[Watch] Unseen footage of a glaring botch during Britt Baker’s AEW in-ring return
A social media user recently shared footage of a botch during Britt Baker's in-ring return in AEW. The error took place on this week's Blood and Guts edition of Dynamite.
The DMD returned to action for the first time since September of last year on the July 24, 2024 episode of Dynamite. Baker took on Hikaru Shida after the latter challenged her to a match at the Blood and Guts edition of the Wednesday-night show on Collision last week.
In one of their last major singles encounters, Baker had defeated The Shining Samurai for the Women's World Title at AEW Double or Nothing 2021. Unfortunately for Shida, their clash on Dynamite this week did not go in her favor either. The Doctor defeated her long-time rival once again with her signature Lockjaw submission hold.
Although the women's bout was an intense, hard-hitting affair, it also featured an unintended error on the part of the performers at one point. A user recently took to X/Twitter to share a clip of Baker's battle against Shida, pointing out a sequence of reversals that looked somewhat sloppy. The fan seemingly blamed Britt Baker for the botch.

Britt Baker was attacked by Mercedes Mone's newest ally, Kamille, on AEW Dynamite
As Britt Baker celebrated her victory over Hikaru Shida on AEW Dynamite, she would be confronted by Mercedes Mone. The CEO congratulated her rival for picking up the win and alluded to the challenge Baker had issued to her to put her TBS Championship on the line at All In 2024.
However, to the fans' frustration in the arena, Mone declined Baker's challenge to go toe-to-toe with her at Wembley Stadium. Immediately afterward, the AEW original would be wiped out with a kick by a debuting Kamille.
The Brickhouse proceeded to lock Baker in a torture rack before slamming her down to the mat and laying her out. Kamille would be joined by Mone in the ring, and the former NWA talent raised the latter's hand, indicating the formation of a new alliance.
During an Instagram live session following Dynamite, The Boss confirmed having joined forces with Kamille and teased that the alliance was a part of her plan to "take over" All Elite Wrestling.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Mercedes Mone in the Tony Khan-led promotion.
