[Watch] WWE legend Bret Hart pays a surprise visit to AEW star for his 40th birthday
WWE legend Bret Hart paid a surprise visit to a top AEW star ahead of his 40th birthday. The talent in question is none other than Dax Harwood.
Dax the Ax made his debut in the Jacksonville-based promotion in 2020 alongside his tag team partner, Cash Wheeler. FTR have lived up to their moniker of 'Top Guys' through their work in AEW, although the duo's immediate future in the company is up in the air for the time being owing to Harwood being asked to take time off and recover from the hematoma he sustained at Dynasty 2024.
Days ahead of his 40th birthday, Dax Harwood received an unexpected surprise from his in-ring partner, Cash Wheeler, and his real-life partner, Maria Nickopoulos. Taking to X/Twitter, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion posted a video where he is seen being startled by an unanticipated visit from Bret Hart.
The Excellence of Execution has been an avowed role model and influence on both members of FTR, and the latter's respect for Hart was evident in Harwood's reaction to Bret showing up to meet him.
"Maria & Cash got me a gift for my 40th birthday. Never in a million years did I think I'd get to this point in my career, but here we are. What a life. Love you all," tweeted Harwood.

AEW's Dax Harwood commented on Jeff Jarrett's emotional promo
Veteran wrestler Jeff Jarrett was recently revealed as one of the entrants in the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. In an emotionally charged vignette, The Last Outlaw reflected on his friendship with the late, great Owen Hart and spoke of his resolve to win the tournament in honor of his former tag team partner.
Jarrett's promo came as a timely response to criticisms from fans over his inclusion in the tournament instead of other, more deserving talent. Dax Harwood, who wrestled Double J in AEW in 2023 and earlier this year in singles and tag action, took to Instagram to voice his support for Jarrett and praised him for wrestling at such a high level in spite of his legendary status.
"Sometimes he's a jerk, but if you're rooting against Jeff, I don't know what to say. A legit legend still performing at a high level."

Jeff Jarrett will face a wild card participant in his quarterfinal match of the tournament. It remains to be seen who the mystery entrant will be.
