[Watch] WWE legend gets emotional while sharing a special moment with Owen Hart’s wife and son
A WWE legend had an emotional exchange with Owen Hart's wife and son in a recent backstage interview. The star in question is Jeff Jarrett.
The Last Outlaw was hailed by many to be the sentimental favorite heading into AEW's 2024 Owen Hart Tournament, especially after he cut an emotional promo alluding to his partnership and friendship with Hart, whom he tagged and traveled within the late 1990s in WWE. Jarrett, unfortunately, failed to advance in the tournament, as he was beaten in the quarterfinals by a returning Hangman Page.
The underhanded tactics used by The Anxious Millennial Cowboy in his subsequent semifinal bout against Jay White prompted Jarrett to intervene in the match and later ask Tony Khan to be made the Special Guest Enforcer for Page's finals encounter with Bryan Danielson.
Double J played a key role in the tournament final this week on AEW Dynamite. He prevented The Hangman from choking The American Dragon with his belt and eventually assumed the role of the referee for the match, counting the pin for Danielson as he scored the victory over Page.
AEW's X/Twitter profile recently shared a backstage conversation between Jeff Jarrett, Dr. Martha Hart, and Oje Hart, Owen's wife and son, respectively. The King of the Mountain tearfully reminisced about his friendship with Hart, commending him for being an incredible spouse, father, and brother.
He also expressed pride and gratitude toward AEW and Tony Khan for organizing the Owen Hart Tournament and giving him an opportunity for closure.
"You know, the tournament didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted it to, or that I even expected it to, but to stand here tonight in Calgary for my friend and be a part of let [sic] a whole new generation of fans know. I know you know, Martha, and I know you, Oje, y'all both know what a man, what a father, what a husband, what a brother Owen was. I know what a friend he was to me. I miss him each and every day, but tonight not only helps me have a little closure, but it gives me extreme pride, and I'm incredibly grateful for AEW and Tony Khan," Jarett said. [0:39 - 1:45]
Former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson is heading to Wembley Stadium
With his victory over Hangman Page in the finals of the 2024 Owen Hart Cup, Bryan Danielson is set to challenge for the AEW World Championship at All In 2024. The former WWE Champion will face Swerve Strickland in a blockbuster match at Wembley Stadium.
Mariah May emerged victorious in the women's side of the tournament, only to immediately turn on her mentor, former WWE Superstar Toni Storm. The Glamour is thus poised to challenge The Timeless One for her AEW Women's World Championship at All In 2024 in her hometown in London.
It remains to be seen how the rest of the card for All In takes shape over the coming weeks.
