"We already got the best ring announcer in the world" - Veteran doesn't think Samantha Irvin is coming to AEW
An AEW veteran recently commented on the rumors of former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin potentially heading to Tony Khan's promotion after her sudden exit. Samantha's better half also went All Elite a few months ago.
Samantha Irvin recently announced her shocking departure from the WWE despite being hailed as one of the greatest ring announcers. Following the news of her departure, Samantha has been rumored to potentially join All Elite Wrestling. The speculations are being made because her fiancee Ricochet is also signed with AEW.
Meanwhile, the veteran commentator and announcer, Tony Schiavone feels Irvin will not make her move to the AEW because the company already has one of the greatest ring announcers in Justin Roberts. Speaking on the What Happened When podcast, Schiavone said:
"We already got the best ring announcer in the world with Justin Roberts. And Arkady Aura is a great ring announcer, who's a great person and is doing a great job. [Samantha Irvin] ain't coming here. I wouldn't think. And of course I've been wrong so many times but why would we? I could show up tonight in Salt Lake City and there she could be." [H/T: WrestlingINC]
Why did Samantha Irvin leave the WWE?
Following her departure from the WWE, fans have been speculating that Samantha Irvin left because of her fiancee Ricochet who is in AEW. Nonetheless, Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio reported the following regarding why Irvin left suddenly:
"She’s got some outside projects she wants to do; apparently, she couldn’t come to terms with how it worked with WWE, and off she goes. She’s actually been thinking about it for a year. She wants to get more involved with her music. It was just something she had been talking about for a long, long time, and finally pulled the trigger on. It’s not like she’s planning on going to AEW."
Henceforth, only time will tell what's next for Samantha after her WWE departure and whether she will join AEW in the future.
