Wheeler Yuta astonishingly apologizes to Bryan Danielson after AEW WrestleDream betrayal

AEW star Wheeler Yuta has apologized to Bryan Danielson after a shocking betrayal at WrestleDream. Bryan and Yuta were a part of the Blackpool Combat Club for several years.

The American Dragon officially retired from full-time competition at AEW WrestleDream after losing the AEW World Title to Jon Moxley. However, Bryan's farewell wasn't a happy one as he suffered another heartbreak at the hands of Wheeler Yuta who turned on him by suffocating him with a plastic bag and cementing his alliance with Jon Moxley's new Blackpool Combat Club.

On X (fka Twitter), Wheeler Yuta apologized to Bryan Danielson for his actions and encouraged him to enjoy his retirement.

"sorry, bryan. enjoy retirement."

Kevin Nash was not a fan of the plastic bag spot involving Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream

All Elite Wrestling first did the plastic bag spot at All Out 2024 where Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli turned on Danielson. The move landed the promotion in hot water among wrestling veterans. Despite the criticism, All Elite Wrestling redid the spot at WrestleDream where Wheeler Yuta suffocated Bryan Danielson to turn heel.

In a recent edition of his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash questioned why All Elite Wrestling keeps doing the plastic bag spot as it leaves a bad impression on the young fanbase.

"Is this [autoerotic asphyxiation]? Because it looks to me like instead of pulling the bag off of his head, it looks like he's like [making it even tighter]. I mean, it's a plastic bag. Why wouldn't you be pulling it the other way over your chin? This has always gotten heat in movies, when the guy is like John Wick, you know? But he's bound in a chair with his hands behind his back. Maybe [AEW isn't] cinema-based. Like I said last week, this is just bad enough for your 8- and 6-year-old kids to get this idea, since [AEW does] it weekly now." (H/T WrestlingINC)

Bryan Danielson is reportedly a free agent and is set to undergo surgery soon. All Elite Wrestling hopes to have The American Dragon back once he's healed up from his injuries.
