Wheeler Yuta of Blackpool Combat Club shares heartbreaking news of his family member’s passing
One-third of the AEW World Trios Champions Wheeler Yuta has just given a personal update amidst the chaos surrounding the former members of the Blackpool Combat Club. This was about the passing away of his aunt.
More than a week ago at All Out, the BCC came to an end, after Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC launched a pre-meditated attack on Bryan Danielson as they were celebrating following his world title defense. Wheeler was kept in the dark and had to be restrained, but he immediately went to check on Bryan once the attack was over.
Last night on AEW Collision, Wheeler Yuta made his first appearance since then and broke his silence on the matter. He also revealed that he had a rough weekend as before All Out, he found out that his aunt had passed due to complications due to COVID-19.
"It was a really rough day for me, Saturday. Before the show, I found out that my aunt in Japan had passed away. She passed away from complications due to COVID-19 and I just kind of know that in her last moments she was struggling to find breath and that's really all I could think about when I watched that happen to Bryan. Aunt Kumiko, I love you. Rest in peace."
He also mentioned how seeing Danielson struggling for breath hit him hard, but claimed that he'll be back better than ever. He admitted that he was currently in a complicated spot and that he needed to think about what was next for him.
"But Bryan, Bryan's going to be okay. Bryan's going to be all right. Hee's going to be like no one we've ever seen before. I don't really know where that leaves me. Yeah, just a lot to think about. I'm sorry, if you'll excuse me. I'm going to take some time by myself, if that's all right." [H/T - Fightful]
Wheeler Yuta talks about the BCC for the first time since the attack on Bryan Danielson
During the same backstage interview after Collision, Wheeler Yuta was asked about his thoughts on what went down at All Out between his faction-mates. He expressed how confused he was as he did not know anything about the attack until it happened.
However, what kept playing in his head was Bryan being choked out and how he had to watch it all. He also mentioned how he could not understand what Jon Moxley and the rest of the group were out to do.
"Everything and nothing, if that makes sense. Everything because I'm just trying to scramble, to figure out why they did what they did, why they didn't tell me, why they did that to Bryan. And then nothing because all I can think about is those moments when they had that bag over Bryan's head where they were trying to end him. They were trying to make me watch for some reason."
Wheeler Yuta is seemingly currently in a dark space, and it looks like he'll be in this state until further developments take place in the storyline. Fans should stay tuned to find out what happens next.
