"Who?" - AEW star snubs longtime friend Kenny Omega's namedrop on AEW Dynamite

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is currently sidelined due to injury (diverticulitis). The 40-year-old has been signed to the Jacksonville-based company since its inception and is undoubtedly one of its biggest stars.

Throughout the years, Omega has portrayed several on-screen characters. However, according to numerous fans, his "belt collector" gimmick was truly special. When the Canadian native was healthy, he had a brilliant run as the company's world champion. While holding this title, he wrestled in several global promotions, winning their top prizes as well.

He was so successful that he once held the Impact World Championship, the Impact X Division Championship, the AAA Mega Championship, and the AEW World Championship, simultaneously. During this era, he was being managed by none other than, Don Callis.

The partnership between Omega and Callis was legendary. Fans remember their segments fondly, however, it appears like the manager has moved on. On the latest episode of Dynamite, there was a fascinating interaction between Callis and Excalibur. The latter stated that the 60-year-old used to admire Omega like he now admires members of the Don Callis family, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kyle Fletcher.

Shockingly, Don Callis acted as if he couldn't recall who Kenny Omega was.

"Who?" responded Don Callis.

According to Don Callis, he is responsible for Kenny Omega's success in AEW

After Don Callis betrayed Omega in mid-2023, he appeared on the Talk is Jericho podcast. He explained to the former WWE star that without him, the AEW Executive Vice President would have never been successful in the company. Furthermore, he claimed that Omega's career was going nowhere in AEW before he partnered with him, and it will happen once again after they parted ways.

"We ran out of there, we changed the business, we won the AAA Title, we won the Impact Title. I did all of that. And then, he just beat Will Ospreay in one of the best matches anyone's ever seen in January in the Tokyo Dome. Who put the strategy together for that?" said Callis. (H/T Wrestling Inc.)

While it is not known when Kenny Omega will make his return, it will be interesting to see if the duo reunite someday.
