William Regal responds to claims of “snaking out” AEW before WWE return
William Regal recently clapped back at a fan who questioned his integrity during his time with AEW a few years ago. This comes as he celebrates WWE NXT's move to a new network.
Regal was one of the focal points of NXT and even served as the brand's general manager at one point. He was released from the company in 2022 but found his way to AEW later that year. The veteran remained with the Tony Khan-led promotion for around nine months before returning to WWE.
On X/Twitter, William Regal sent out a heartfelt message to commemorate NXT's time with the USA Network coming to an end. A fan replied and thanked him for his contributions, including being a mole for them during his time with AEW. Regal replied to the fan and explained his side of things.
"FYI. Although it serves some people’s agenda, and having a massive amount of people who work in AEW that can only back me up, I went to AEW to help because Bryan Danielson asked me to. Please find me one person who can say otherwise. I arrived at 10 am until 6.15 pm ( est) to train anyone who wanted to come, apart from going to the rest room and refilling my water container, I never attended a single production meeting ( as I knew, if I were to stay there) I needed people to realize I was only there to help. Nor did I ask a single question about anybody that works there’s contract status. I helped at the ring with what any of the talent needed."
He continued:
"I showered and got into a suit by 6.30 then watched he monitor with everyone else. I’m giving you the right to ask anyone who works backstage or talent the right to ask them if I did anything but help with no agenda. Feel free. I also didn’t call Tony when his Mom was ill. He called me and as soon as he told me where he was I ended the phone call and we spoke 2 weeks later. FYI, my deal was up in December ‘28. That’s when I left. These are all facts I can prove. Anyone trying to twist this has the right to check this out. I am friendly with 60% + of the talent and backstage crew. Feel free to do some real research," said William Regal.
What did William Regal do in AEW?
Upon arriving at AEW back in Revolution 2022, William Regal co-founded the Blackpool Combat Club. He also served as their manager until Full Gear that same year, when he turned on Jon Moxley.
He was heading out of the promotion as reports indicated he wished to return to WWE. He played this off by saying that he did what he did as a final lesson for the BCC, and that was to be three steps ahead of everyone else.
Although these seemed to be cryptic comments at the time, it appears that Mox may now have understood their meaning, as he has suddenly changed his demeanor. Apart from all his backstage contributions, it seems that William Regal may have left something with lasting ramifications.
