Wrestling legend returns to AEW to confront Chris Jericho on Dynamite 250

A legendary wrestler unexpectedly returned to AEW on the 250th episode of Dynamite tonight to confront Chris Jericho. The star in question is Minoru Suzuki.

The July 17, 2024, edition of the Wednesday-night flagship show aired the latest iteration of TV Time with The Learning Tree, featuring Chris Jericho and his new stable-mates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith. The heel faction has been running roughshod over their rivals recently as they completely destroyed HOOK earlier this month and sent Samoa Joe to the hospital last week.

Jericho addressed the crowd packing the Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas, berating the city by alluding to its crime rate. He promised to continue being a mainstay of Dynamite moving forward, and listed the recent actions of The Learning Tree, suggesting that people will stop getting hurt once they start learning the lessons Jericho has been attempting to impart.

The Ocho's remarks, however, brought out an unanticipated arrival in the form of NJPW legend Minoru Suzuki, who was last seen on Dynamite in June when he rejected Jericho's offer to team with him at Forbidden Door 2024. The King of Pro-Wrestling stepped into the ring and confronted Jericho, handing him a document. The latter's new proteges studied the document and then revealed that The Lionheart will have to put his FTW Championship on the line against Suzuki on AEW Dynamite next week.

The contract for the match also seemingly stipulated that The Redwood and The Bounty Hunter will be banned from ring-side for the bout. Suzuki then headbutted the former AEW World Champion, laying him out before leaving.

It remains to be seen if Minoru Suzuki will be able to win his first title in AEW next week by beating Chris Jericho.
