Wrestling veteran urges top stars to leave AEW and return to WWE to become new Paul Heyman Guys

AEW has signed several former WWE Superstars and Legends since the company was launched in 2019. One top act has found major success under Tony Khan, but a wrestling veteran thinks they should jump ship to be the next Paul Heyman Guys.

Dax Harwood signed with WWE in 2012, and his longtime friend and colleague Cash Wheeler joined him two years later. After major support from the late, great Dusty Rhodes, the North Carolinians formed a team called The Mechanics. They were also known as Dash & Dawson, then The Revival, and went on to become the first-ever WWE Tag Team Triple Crown Champions.

The duo was released in April 2020, 15 months after asking to be let go, and were signed to AEW the next month. It's safe to say FTR were never Paul Heyman Guys as Dax has previously discussed heat with the former ECW boss.

On a recent episode of Konnan's Keepin' It 100, Disco Inferno discussed FTR's legacy and labeled them "very polished veterans" in a "sea of indie talent." The 4-time WCW champion praised FTR for their in-ring work, but when it comes to their legacy, he sees them as one of the best tag teams going, but "not really close" to the all-time greats. Disco then suggested Dax and Cash return to WWE to be with Paul Heyman:

"If in WWE, they should be a part of Paul Heyman's faction. That's the tag team. Paul Heyman's the manager of a couple singles guys, and a tag team, they would be the Paul Heyman tag team. They'd always be in the chase for the belts, but they don't cut good promos, and Paul cuts good promos, and they have good matches. Their legacy could be something if they go back to WWE, and become prominent players on that show. But in AEW right now? Forget it. It's not going to happen," Disco Inferno said. [From 4:30 to 5:05]

The Wise-Man has managed several notable names over the years, including Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Big Show, and The Dangerous Alliance, among others. Heyman also managed a few rising stars when the "Paul Heyman Guy" label was more popular, such as Curtis Axel, Cesaro, and Ryback.

WWE Legend says AEW boss could learn from Paul Heyman

Tony Khan is a lifelong pro wrestling fan who launched his own company in 2019. AEW is viewed by many as the #2 wrestling promotion in the world, with several household names on the roster.

Khan often gets flak for various reasons, from his creative decisions to his social media use. Eric Bischoff is no stranger to Khan or Heyman and believes the son of a billionaire could learn something from his fellow WWE Hall of Famer.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff recently offered some advice to the AEW - ROH owner:

"Lesson to be learned, Tony Khan. Embrace being the underdog. Quit taking shots at the big dog in the neighborhood because you're never gonna beat the big dog. But if you embrace the fact that you're an underdog, people will support you because of that," Eric Bischoff said. [From 03:12 to 03:30]

Bischoff previously made comments on how Khan wants to be like Heyman and Vince McMahon. The former nWo boss believes Khan can't be helped.
