Matt Camp reveals why he was released by WWE

Matt Camp was released from the Stamford-based promotion after more than three years with it. His role was primarily to host The Bump.

While speaking on The Wrestling Matt podcast, the 39-year-old star revealed that he was released from WWE as a 'cost-cutting measure'.

"I was told by Michael Cole [about my release] when that happened, and he was not the one who let me go. It was an HR representative; I was told it had nothing to do with anything I did; it was a cost-cutting measure, or whatever you want to call it; [we] are tightening the budget," Camp said.

The creative team led by Triple H has made quite some significant changes since taking over in the past couple of years. It will be interesting to see how this show by the former WWE personality works out in the coming days.
