WWE Hall of Famer confirms popular duo are in talks with Tony Khan's AEW
A WWE Hall of Famer confirmed that a popular tag team is in talks with several promotions, including AEW. The legend in question is Kevin Von Erich.
Kevin Von Erich and Kerry Von Erich were a popular tag team during the late 1970s. The duo was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of The Von Erich family in 2009. To carry the family's legacy forward, Kevin's sons, Marshall and Ross Von Erich, have been on the tag team wrestling scene for the past decade.
The duo made their maiden AEW and ROH appearances in December 2023. Last week on Collision, Kevin and his sons were seen backstage with Dustin Rhodes. Meanwhile, during an interaction with Third League Radio, Kevin revealed that Marshall and Ross Von Erich were currently in talks with ''different people.'' However, the veteran admitted his desire to see his sons in Tony Khan's promotion.
"I don’t know what I can say or can’t say. I know they are in negotiations right now. They’re talking to different people. I know that it’s a great day, and great days are coming. I love the AEW mentality and the way they are, and they’ve got great catering, too [laughs]. WWE, them too; nothing against them, but I really like AEW. That’s kind of where I’m leaning right now, but it’s up to the boys, so we’ll just see. We’ll find out," Kevin revealed. [H/T: Fightful]
WWE Hall of Famer on having a good feeling about AEW
During the same interview, Kevin Von Erich lavished praise on the Jacksonville-based promotion. The legendary wrestler claimed that AEW had a ''cutting-edge,'' and his sons loved Tony Khan's company.
The 67-year-old also claimed that he had a ''good feeling'' about AEW's future in the world of professional wrestling.
“We’ve got a show for AEW. It’s this new wrestling company that’s cutting-edge. My sons love it. I’m for all the businesses, WWE, AEW, and all the new companies coming up. I want them all to do well. But I especially have a good feeling about AEW. These guys are sharp; they’re smart, and they’re experienced. They know what they’re doing, and I like the feel of it.
