WWE Hall of Famer points out a rare incident that stood out in Jon Moxley's WrestleDream match
A WWE veteran recently discussed Jon Moxley's match against Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream and pointed out a rare incident that stood out during the bout. The Hall of Famer being discussed is Mark Henry. He was All Elite from 2021 to 2024 and worked as a backstage coach and commentator for the promotion.
Recently, Mark Henry praised the main event of WrestleDream pay-per-view and the chaos following it. Jon Moxley became a four-time AEW World Champion after defeating and retiring Bryan Danielson at the event. The latter had announced beforehand that he would be hanging up his boots and wrestling as a part-timer when he lost the top prize.
Following the match, The American Dragon was brutally attacked while Darby Allin's hands were tied to duct tape. Later, Wheeler Yuta suffocated Danielson with a plastic bag. In the end, Claudio Castagnoli stomped his neck with a chair, seemingly injuring it. The show ended with many babyfaces of the roster coming to save Bryan, and the 43-year-old star was stretchered out of the arena.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, the WWE veteran highly praised the angle. However, he sarcastically pointed out one unique aspect of the match. Mark Henry claimed that this was the very first time The Lunatic Fringe didn't bleed, as he usually does.
"For the first time in the history of wrestling you saw a match that Moxley did and didn't bleed (...) The suffocation, putting the duct tape on the wrists in the corner for Darby and attacking Bryan. I loved all of it, because... you need shock and awe to get people's attention in pro wrestling," he said. [H/T - Wrestling Inc.]
