WWE Hall of Famer proclaims AEW might never see a million viewers again
AEW has been facing issues with rating and viewership. WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently commented on the matter saying that the Jacksonville-based promotion might never attain the one million mark again.
2021 and 2022 were great years for the Tony Khan-led company as the company drew more than a million viewers on many weekly shows. 2023 and 2024 so far haven't been as good in terms of ratings and viewership as compared to the years before.
Speaking on one of the recent editions of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff stated that the Jacksonville-based company might never draw a million viewers ever again in the future:
"They may not ever see a million viewers again. But in this context, it doesn't really matter what the ratings are. The fact is they tried something very different. It may have bombed. It may have been a horrible idea or it may have been a really really great out of the box let's surprise the audience with something that's different than what they typically do." (0:59 to 1:35)
Bischoff made this statement while commenting on MJF and Will Ospreay's almost hour-long match which took place at Dynamite 250.

The 250th edition of Dynamite featured a blockbuster battle between MJF and Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship. The brutal bout lasted for 59 minutes.
The WCW legend applauded the match on his 83 Weeks podcast. He praised Tony Khan for presenting an out-of-the-box idea to the audience. He added that he didn't see the match, but that didn't stop him from acknowledging the effort made by Khan, who he isn't on the best of terms with.
MJF and Will Ospreay will have a rematch for the AEW International Championship at All In 2024, scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium in London on August 25.
