WWE Hall of Famer says Will Ospreay could have been creative in his alleged response to Triple H
AEW star Will Ospreay recently seemingly took a shot at WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon on an episode of Dynamite. The Areal Assassin's scathing promo came following Triple H's comments on The Pat McAfee Show during the WrestleMania XL weekend.
While The Game didn't take any name, he seemingly took a dig at Ospreay when he said that free agents weren't ready for the grind. In response, Ospreay hit back with razor-sharp comments. However, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has reckoned that the AEW star should've been more creative with his insult on The Game rather than dragging his wife, Stephanie.
"Do you know if Paul Levesque mentioned Will Ospreay by name? So it was Will Ospreay taking it personally, even though he wasn't mentioned. I'm not gonna criticize Will for that. I don't know Will Ospreay, but I'm super impressed with what I've seen with him so far. 'I'm not sure he's gonna realize it in AEW because nobody else that comes in there has," said Bischoff on his 83 Weeks podcast.
Bischoff further added:
"But he's an amazing talent and has amazing potential, and if he took it personally, I understand that, it's human nature. I kinda wish he would've been a little more creative; if you're gonna take a shot at someone, I'm gonna set aside the whole issue of even acknowledging the competition for right now, but if I'm Will Ospreay and I'm new to this market as he is and I'm trying to build a following, which he is."
The former RAW General Manager concluded that Will Ospreay would need to make connections in the wrestling industry, considering he has burned his bridges with the Triple H-led WWE.
"He's going to need to because he doesn't have one, [...] The last thing I wanna do is take a shot at Paul Levesque coming off the massive success of WrestleMania, [...] the last thing I would say is, 'Well the only reason the guy's got his job is because of...anything,' especially the shot at Stephanie," he added. Will Ospreay set for a dream match against former WWE Champion
Will Ospreay has been making waves since his first AEW pay-per-view match as a full-time member at Revolution 2024. The Aerial Assassin will lock horns with former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson in a hugely-anticipated encounter at the upcoming Dynasty PPV.
It will be interesting to see how the mixture of technical wrestling and high-flying stunts merge into when Danielson and Ospreay square off at AEW Dynasty.
