WWE Hall of Famer Sting announced for non-AEW event

Legendary professional wrestler Sting has performed in several promotions across North America. He is best known for his time in WCW, where he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship a staggering six times. He has also wrestled in TNA and WWE; however, during the final years of his career, he was signed to All Elite Wrestling.

"The Icon" retired earlier this year at the Revolution pay-per-view. He is currently being advertised to appear live in WrestleCade Weekend, which is scheduled to take place later this year.

WrestleCade Weekend will take place at the Benton Convention Center, Winston-Salem, NC, from November 29 to December 1, 2024. Names such as Sabu, Matt Cardona, Mick Foley, Toni Storm, JBL, Kevin Nash, Joe Hendry, and more have been announced as well.

Sting said that having conversations with wrestling fans blows him away

The 65-year-old previously spoke about the interactions he had with wrestling fans and how they never failed to astonish him. He said that his matches had a huge impact on them and sometimes even helped them not to give up. Furthermore, the WWE Hall of Famer was glad his fans made him immensely happy with their stories.

"I can’t tell you the amount of conversations I’ve had where someone would tell me that the only relationship they had with their father was watching Sting in WCW, or the ones where people told me they were bullied in school but they watched Sting and he made them feel strong. Can you believe that? I still can’t. The feeling that wrestling fans give me is as great as anything I give them. It blows me away." he said. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]

In his final match, he and Darby Allin locked horns with The Young Bucks in a Tornado Tag Team Match and successfully defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship. However, they relinquished them soon after.
