WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long addresses Shane McMahon meeting Tony Khan (Exclusive)

The unlikely meeting between Shane McMahon and Tony Khan remains a prominent talking point in pro wrestling. During the latest episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long explained why their link-up was good for the business.

Conrad Thompson first brought the rumors that Shane McMahon could be interested in doing business with AEW to light a few weeks ago. The rumors were proven true after Shane O'Mac was spotted with Khan in a photo that seemingly broke the internet.

Tony Khan has since spoken about his interactions with Vince McMahon's son, and while nothing is signed or official yet, many expect Shane to appear in All Elite Wrestling soon.

The topic was discussed in the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Wrestling Time Machine, and Teddy Long admitted that Shane McMahon's potential arrival in AEW would benefit the wrestling industry. The WWE Hall of Famer also thought that, from AEW's perspective, having the experienced Shane McMahon would help the company's talents.

"It's really interesting for Shane and Tony Khan to even be talking. I think it's a good move, and I'd like to see something like that happen, you know what I mean? I'd like to see Shane and him get together and maybe make the wrestling business a lot better than it is, especially for those guys over there at AEW." [From 04:34 to 04:53]

Bill Apter on what Shane McMahon could do in Tony Khan's AEW

Shane McMahon has spent his entire wrestling career in WWE, and for several fans, seeing him in AEW would be a very surprising visual. Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter recently spoke to Bully Ray, who relayed Shane McMahon's statement following his meeting with Tony Khan.

Apter noted that if Tony had presented a deal to McMahon, it would have been a sensible decision as people in AEW, including Bryan Danielson, also wish to work with the former SmackDown Commissioner again.

Even if he doesn't take up an on-screen role, Bill Apter expressed sentiments similar to Teddy Long's, stating that Shane McMahon's presence backstage could help AEW's business.

"If Tony Khan offered him something and he took it, it would be a great idea because, first of all, people like Bryan Danielson would love to have him back on; he has been quoted. Maybe not as a performer, but to fine-tune things backstage that are blatantly happening. To smooth things over and put them on a more even, clear road in terms of the business."
