WWE legend, at 55, announces he’s not “RETIRING” anytime soon

A WWE veteran announced he wants to continue his in-ring career and stated that he wasn't bidding farewell to the squared circle yet. The star being discussed is Dustin Rhodes.

The Natural is one of the most experienced stars in AEW right now. He has wrestled all over the world in several promotions for a period spanning almost 36 years. Despite being a huge star, WWE didn't retain him beyond a fifth run in the company. In 2019, he became a part of the Jacksonville-based promotion's locker room and has been wrestling occasionally.

On the recent edition of Battle of the Belts XI, Dustin Rhodes, Marshall, and Ross Von Erich defeated The Undisputed Kingdom's Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Roderick Strong for their ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championship.

Recently Bully Ray talked about Dustin Rhodes not being utilized more often on AEW television. He also stated that the 55-year-old star wasn't ready to hang up his boots yet. Responding to the statements, Dustin confirmed that he wasn't "RETIRING ANYTIME SOON."

"I love @bullyray5150 @THETOMMYDREAMER @davidlagreca1 But............ I AM NOT RETIRING ANYTIME SOON. I will go out the way I want to, and this One last Ride is still rolling. #Passion #RhodesLegacy, @ringofhonor World Six Man Champs," Dustin wrote.

WWE Legend Dustin Rhodes breaks silence after winning major championship

WWE legend, Dustin Rhodes and the Von Erichs defeated The Undisputed Kingdom to capture the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. This was The Natural's first major title victory since becoming part of All Elite Wrestling.

While speaking in AEW's exclusive interview, the veteran revealed he had never expected to win the championship with the Von Erichs. He was also very happy with his latest title victory, alongside the members of another family that was considered wrestling royalty.

"Guys, I’m going to be honest with you for just a second. This is a surreal moment for me. I’m 55 years old and I’ve been doing this a long, long time — 36 years. I promise you this from the bottom of my heart I can say this: I had no idea this is very special because the two families we have here, the Von Erichs and the Rhodes, I never in a million years thought I would be standing here with the Von Erichs in the ring and win six-man gold." he said.

It remains to be seen how much longer the WWE legend can continue to perform in the ring as one would guess he is nearing his retirement soon.
