WWE Legend blasts AEW's refereeing after embarrassing showing on Dynamite: "They just don't do their jobs"
A WWE Hall of Famer expressed his displeasure towards the referee in a recent match on AEW Dynamite. Wrestling veteran Bully Ray (fka Bubba Ray Dudley) explained how the referee didn't do their job properly.
On the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Dustin Rhodes was set to square off against Jack Perry for a spot in the TNT Title ladder match at the upcoming Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View. It was the opening match of the show and turned out to be a solid bout to begin the show.
However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray pointed out how the official of the match, Aubrey Edwards, was not doing her job properly throughout the match and failed to be "law and order in the ring." Speaking on Busted Open Radio recently, Ray stated:
"I don't know why AEW feels the need to have referees in some of these matches, because they just don't do their jobs, I liked the match, I didn't like the referee. Guy is out on the floor, no count, punches in the corner no count. I mean is it that difficult to do your job? Is it that difficult to be the law and order in the ring? Is it that difficult to count to ten when a guy's on the floor? Or count to five when guys are in the ropes or in the corner?" [From 11:50 to 12:23]
WWE legend says AEW referee didn't add any credibility to the match on Dynamite
The WWE legend Bully Ray also explained how the referee in the match between Dustin Rhodes and Jack Perry didn't add any credibility, as she had to be asked to count:
"I mean why do you sit there and do nothing? I don't understand that, I mean you do absolutely nothing, and then later on in the match when Dustin takes some super-duper DDT on the floor and Jack Perry rolls in and tells the ref. to start counting, that's when the ref. starts counting. Makes no sense, lends zero credibility to the match." [From 12:24 to 12:51]
Moreover, Jack Perry managed to defeat Dustin Rhodes in the match and registered his spot for the TNT Title ladder match at Forbidden Door. It remains to be seen who becomes the new champion at the pay-per-view.
