WWE legend claims Stone Cold Steve Austin has disappeared from his life; hasn’t talked to him in a year

A WWE legend has made the startling claim that Stone Cold Steve Austin has "disappeared" from his life, revealing that the two have not spoken in a year. The star in question is Ric Flair.

Fightful Select recently reported that the agreement between The Nature Boy's WOOOOO! Energy Drink Line and All Elite Wrestling have come to an end. The report, by extension, suggests that the Hall of Famer's time in the Tony Khan-led company is likely over. He has been the subject of widespread speculation since then, with many considering the possibility of Flair returning to WWE.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Ric Flair revealed that he has recently not been in touch with WWE legends like he would before. The former WCW World Champion brought up the name of Steve Austin, whom Flair supposedly has not spoken to in a year.

“I was talking to Ashley (Charlotte) yesterday and I said it’s just a whole new time in life. It’s funny but – I don’t mean funny by we don’t talk to him, but, like, Steve [Austin] has just disappeared. I would talk to him once a week, twice a week, once a month. I haven’t talked to Steve in a year,” Flair said.

Flair disclosed that he speaks to The Undertaker periodically and runs into Mick Foley at signings. He even named Shawn Michaels as a peer with whom he supposedly has some contact.

“I talk to 'Taker occasionally, and I see Foley at signings and HBK, but if you look at all the guys that were around, the names – the generational guys you would call talent or the great workers or biggest stars or Mr. WrestleMania or whatever, they’re all gone. It’s a whole new era, guys.” [H/T eWrestlingnews]

Matt Morgan thinks Ric Flair will head back to WWE

Ric Flair was brought into AEW as a "retirement gift" for Sting en route to the latter's final wrestling match alongside Darby Allin against The Young Bucks at Revolution 2024. The Hall of Famer was physically involved in the bout as he tried to protect The Icon from The Jackson Brothers and even ate dual superkicks.

However, Flair has not been seen on AEW programming since then, and now it seems his stint in the company is over.

Former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan, speaking on Gigantic Pop, recently suggested that Ric Flair will be back in the Stamford-based promotion under a legends deal. Given Flair's history in the sports entertainment juggernaut, this possibility cannot be dismissed.

It remains to be seen whether Flair will reunite with his former Evolution stable-mate Triple H, who is currently helming WWE's creative product.
