WWE legend hopes to wrestle at AEW Grand Slam Australia before hanging up his boots
A former WWE icon was asked whether he would be around for AEW Grand Slam Australia next month. The legend responded that he hopes to be in attendance at the show.
Dustin Rhodes is one of the names within the company who has the longest tenure in the business. Despite being in the industry for almost four decades, he hasn't shown any signs of declining, as he still goes all out for his matches.
On X/Twitter, a fan asked whether Dustin Rhodes will be at Grand Slam Australia. They hoped to be able to see him in person before he retires in the future. The Natural responded but did not confirm or deny whether he'd be around. He hoped that he would be at the event.
"I hope so!! #AEWCollision," Dustin wrote.
Dustin holds both the ROH World Tag Team and the six-man title, and he could defend one of these at the zero-hour pre-show of the pay-per-view. It has been a commodity for some talent from ROH to appear in this part of the event.
Dustin Rhodes recently got to compete in Japan on behalf of AEW and ROH
Last weekend at Wrestle Dynasty, Dustin Rhodes made his return to Japan and competed in the Tokyo Dome for the first time since 1992, where he was in tag team action alongside his father.
This time, he competed alongside Sammy Guevara as they put the ROH Tag Team titles on the line against SHO and Yoshinobu Kanemaru of the House of Torture. They ended up coming on top and leaving the Land of the Rising Sun victorious.
Dustin took to X/Twitter to thank all parties involved for the opportunity to compete in the legendary arena and be a part of the crossover pay-per-view.
“Thank you Tokyo Japan! Thank you @TokyoDomeEvents. Very surreal stepping back in to the Dome. Last time was 92 when my father and I wrestled together. Thank you @njpwglobal @njpw1972. Thank you @ringofhonor and @AEW #WrestleDynasty,” wrote Dustin Rhodes.
Now, who will be next in line for the tag team titles remains to be seen. Seeing as both AEW and ROH have stacked divisions, who knows who will step up to them next?
