WWE legend lashes out at AEW; calls it a "disappointment" and an "embarrassment"
Ever since AEW's inception in 2019, the promotion has been one of the hottest topics in wrestling discussions, debates, and podcasts. While the company has received its fair share of praise, it is subjected to severe criticism from time to time. This is especially due to its booking decisions, management, and graphic nature.
One of All Elite Wrestling's biggest critics is WWE legend Eric Bischoff. The King of Controversy is often seen attacking the company for various reasons. It appears that he disagrees with Tony Khan's policies and does not hold back from expressing himself. Recently, the 69-year-old showed up on NXT. However, the program did not receive extraordinary ratings. When a fan pointed this out, Bischoff replied that the show he got featured on still beat AEW. A fan responded to this comment by saying that the veteran was obsessed with AEW.
Eric Bischoff hit back by claiming that he does not care about All Elite Wrestling at all. Furthermore, he called the company an embarrassment to the industry.
"Not at all. Like the majority of people who are interested in pro wrestling in general, I couldn’t care less about AEW. It’s gone from being an exciting new opportunity, to a promotion that was expanding yet going through growing pains, to a disappointment, and now an embarrassment to the genre," wrote the WWE legend.
AEW critic Eric Bischoff enjoys enraging the internet wrestling community
In the statement mentioned above, Bischoff wrote that he gets immense enjoyment from messing with the minds of the internet wrestling community and the "the dirtsheet/cage match nerds."
"I probably DO get too much enjoyment out of fucking w the IWC and the dirtsheet/cage match nerds than I should. It’s a never ending journey into the depths of a delusional, bizarre subculture. Just when you think you’ve arrived at the bottom, you realize clueless has a basement," said Bischoff.
Eric Bischoff was one of the top names in World Championship Wrestling. He is also a WWE Hall of Famer.
