WWE Legend's AEW contract expires in August 2025, expects Tony Khan to re-sign him
The AEW contract of a well-respected WWE Hall of Famer is set to expire next year. This revelation comes amid rumors and speculation on a potential departure, but the fan-favorite also provided a significant health update. Furthermore, fans may be surprised by a statement on how much longer the wrestling legend can go.
Jim Ross was one of the first established names that Tony Khan signed to All Elite Wrestling after launching with stars like Chris Jericho. Ross has worked on-screen and behind-the-scenes for the company, wearing many hats as he's done throughout his 50-year career. AEW reduced JR's workload in recent years while he's fought health issues, but he has remained a key part of the roster.
Good 'Ol JR expects his AEW contract to be renewed next summer. On the latest episode of Grilling JR, co-host Conrad Thompson wondered if Ross will be free to appear at WrestleCon in Arlington, TX, next July or if he will be working All In that weekend. The 73-year-old revealed that his contract expires in August, adding that he's in great health these days.
"Oh yeah, I think so. My contract expires in August, but I haven't had any... I don't have any sense or feeling that I'm not going to be kept. Because of the schedule I do, I could maintain that for years to come, and I'm not saying that in a braggadocious fashion. This is what I do, this is what I was born to do, and as long as my heart is beating and I'm healthy... and right now, quite frankly, I'm healthier than I've ever been," Jim Ross said. Ross initially signed a three-year contract with AEW in April 2019 to work as a commentator and senior advisor. He has worked a reduced schedule in recent years while battling health issues.
