WWE legend says AEW President Tony Khan is an "alpha male," compares him to Vince McMahon

AEW President Tony Khan has been the subject of plenty of comparisons, but the most common parallel is with former WWE CEO Vince McMahon. While the two seem nothing alike on the surface, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently claimed that Khan and McMahon do share one thing in common.

Khan often receives criticism for being too nice and trying to be friends with his talent. For this very reason, some, like CM Punk, believe the All Elite Wrestling chief is a good person but not the best boss.

AEW commentator Jim Ross seems to think that Khan is similar to his old boss, Vince McMahon, in one aspect: the level of control the All Elite President has over his company's product. Speaking on the latest edition of Grilling JR, Ross claimed that, just like Vince, Tony Khan has his hands in every pie:

"I've been really enjoying Collision here lately, that team who writes that are doing a real good job, and I know it's spearheaded by Tony Khan. There's no doubt who's the alpha male in that company, and that's a good thing .... That's how it was when I first went to WWE with Vince. He had his hand in everything, t-shirt designs, ticket prices, on-sale dates, venues, everything, every single thing, and because that's what he wanted, and he liked to be deeply involved," said JR [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Wrestling veteran Konnan wants Tony Khan to hire Vince Russo

While Jim Ross might see Tony Khan's control as a good thing, some think the AEW boss is overworked. Khan runs much of AEW's programming alongside booking ROH and his duties with both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C.

Wrestling legend Konnan believes that Tony needs to hand off some of his duties, and he suggested industry veterans like Vince Russo and Jeff Jarrett could be the ones in charge:

"He's [Tony Khan] doing three shows, and I've always said, 'Give one show to Vince Russo. Give one show to Jeff Jarrett, give one show to three different guys, and then let them do those shows, and if they don't give you results in six months, get rid of them and put somebody else!' You don't have to do everything!" Konnan said on Keepin' it 100.

Khan does have a creative team, which consists of several AEW executives and coaches, as well as Bryan Danielson. But whether the All Elite Wrestling chief will ever hand off his duties remains to be seen.
