WWE legend urges Tony Khan to pull the trigger on 26-year-old star and crown him as new champion at AEW Full Gear 2024
WWE veteran Matt Hardy wants Tony Khan to put the AEW TNT Championship on Daniel Garcia. The Red Death recently renewed his deal with All Elite Wrestling.
Daniel Garcia is currently in a rivalry with TNT Champion Jack Perry and is set to challenge him at the AEW Full Gear PPV event. The 26-year-old star has had opportunities to capture gold in the promotion before and is also a former ROH Pure Champion.
In a recent edition of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the TNA star said that All Elite Wrestling should pull the trigger on Daniel Garcia and make him TNT Champion to establish him as the top guy.
“It should be. I think it needs to be. Whenever you get guys on the precipice of becoming one of your main stars and getting into a scenario where the fans really believe in him as a legitimate top guy in your company, you have to pull the trigger when the time is right because the fans can lose faith in performers. I feel like they’ve had a few opportunities with DG where they could have done that and it hasn’t happened yet so I think this is situation where it’s paramount that they do pull the trigger on him and he becomes TNT Champion and you really try to establish him as one of the foundational guys in AEW.” H/T:[Fightful]
Jeff Jarrett on Daniel Garcia's match at AEW Full Gear
In a recent edition of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett claimed that Daniel Garcia has an opportunity to sink or swim against Jack Perry at AEW Full Gear. Double J questioned how Garcia would tackle this opportunity as winning the TNT Championship will be his biggest accomplishment to date in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
"Let me just lay this out here, I'll make it very short and sweet. Mr. Garcia has an opportunity to sink or swim, it's that simple. What will he do? I am gonna tune in. He has an opportunity, can he deliver?" [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
We will have to wait and see if Tony Khan puts the TNT Championship on Daniel Garcia at Full Gear.
