WWE NXT surprisingly beats AEW Dynamite this week
WWE NXT beat AEW Dynamite in a major aspect this week. Since 2019, the shows' ratings and viewerships have been separated by a considerable margin, with All Elite Wrestling's flagship show leading.
However, with Dynamite's decreasing ratings, both have somewhat competed in recent weeks. This week, NXT drew 656,000 viewers and had a P18-49 rating of 0.24.
The recent Dynamite edition was a crucial episode as winners of the Men's and Women's Owen Hart Tournaments were to be determined. Bryan Danielson and Mariah May grabbed the trophy, respectively. Also, The Glamour turned on Toni Storm. She will be facing her at All In for the AEW Women's World Champion.
According to Wrestlenomics, Dynamite drew a total viewership of 691,000 viewers and had a rating of 0.23 among 18-49 demographics, which means the Shawn Michaels and Triple H-led company has beaten Tony Khan's promotion in P18-49 ratings.
Also, the previous week's Wednesday night episode garnered 688,000 viewers.
Next week is AEW Dynamite's 250th episode, and a huge match-up has been announced for the show. Blockbusters like MJF vs. Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland vs. Kazuchika Okada are on the card. Also, Mercedes Mone has announced an open challenge for the TBS Championship.
It will be interesting to see if the next edition will draw more eyes than before.
