WWE veteran applauds full circle moment in Bryan Danielson’s last AEW match
A WWE Hall of Famer pointed out a major detail in Bryan Danielson's match against Jon Moxley. The star who made the point was Bully Ray. When Blackpool Combat Club was introduced, Wheeler Yuta had to go through a few brutal challenges to prove that he belonged to the group.
The American Dragon has lost a lot of friends since the last month. At All Out, he was brutally attacked by his own stablemates. Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli betrayed him and the duo were joined by Marina Shafir and PAC in forming their own faction. While the former Lunatic Fringe was suffocating Danielson with a plastic bag, Yuta couldn't help him. From then on, the latter was conflicted about which side to choose as his friends were divided.
However, things took an unfortunate turn as Moxley dethroned Bryan Danielson as the AEW World Champion at WrestleDream. Later, he was choked out by Wheeler Yuta, who chose the new faction rather than his mentor. After the brutal attack, the 43-year-old star was supposedly hospitalized.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray believes the former ROH Pure Champion had to 're-prove' himself by assaulting Danielson in order to gain the trust of Jon Moxley and his faction, which was very similar to his initial BCC recruitment story.
"What bigger final nail in the coffin for Bryan Danielson than to have the babyface friend who came down to make the save, an original member of The BCC, who then tried to help Danielson, but now he's forced to do the most despicable of things, which is to choke Danielson out? It's almost like in a gang being jumped in, or having to reprove yourself, and they made Yuta reprove himself by putting that plastic bag over Danielson's head. So, I liked that little touch," he said. [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
Wheeler Yuta sends a message to Bryan Danielson after betraying him
Wheeler Yuta shocked the world when he switched sides at the WrestleDream Pay-Per-View. He attacked Darby Allin and then The American Dragon.
The former ROH Pure Champion recently apologized to Bryan Danielson on X/Twitter and wished the latter after his retirement, though not many were sure about the sincerity of his wish.
"sorry, Bryan. Enjoy retirement," he wrote.
It will be interesting to see who could be the next target of Jon Moxley's faction.
