WWE veteran believes current AEW star is nowhere near Damian Priest's level - "I just don't see it"
WWE veteran Jim Cornette recently compared a top AEW star to the World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. The star in question is none other than Hangman Adam Page.
The former AEW World Champion recently made his return to television as the Wild Card in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. However, Hangman came up short in the finals against Bryan Danielson last week. Hangman is set to join Team Elite in the Blood and Guts match.
Meanwhile, Damian Priest has become one of the top stars of the Stamford-based promotion ever since capturing the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL earlier this year.
Speaking on his Drive Thru podcast, the former WWE manager claimed Hangman is not at the level of Damian Priest and pointed out that all of Page's characters feel the same.
"I just don't see it in [Hangman] Page as a heel anymore than I saw it as a babyface because there's something that's not there. He's athletic, He does sh*t. I don't want to smear Damian Priest but we've been talking about Priest, looks like it, sounds like it but ain't happening yet. I don't see Page anywhere near the level that Priest is... Now he's playing a mean guy, before he played a happy guy but then he was a morose alcoholic guy but he's always just a guy. Is there anything there that can spark people?" [From 03:50 to 04:43]

Bill Apter shares a major problem with Damian Priest's recent WWE RAW match
World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest is gearing up to defend his title against the King of the Ring Gunther at WWE SummerSlam. The Archer of Infamy had a confrontation with The Ring General before competing in a non-title match against Braun Strowman on this week's WWE RAW. Priest successfully picked up a dominant victory over Strowman.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, Bill Apter shared his thoughts on the match and stated that it should have been the main event as Priest is the World Champion.
"In the old days, in the old days that would have been, it's gonna be a special non-title match. If the World Champion was in the middle of the show. But I agree with you, the World Heavyweight Championship should have been the closing match. And here you have Braun Strowman who maybe a lot of fans think this guy might be a threat to the title. But it just seemed like another match, didn't it?"
Damian Priest has passed 100 days as the World Heavyweight Champion. It will be interesting to see if 'El Campion' manages to defeat Gunther at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
