WWE veteran comments on whether Randy Orton could be forced to retire like Bryan Danielson
A WWE veteran commented on if Randy Orton could be forced to retire just like Bryan Danielson. The wrestling legend is none other than Dutch Mantell.
The in-ring return of The Apex Predator has been in question following recent reports about the severity of his injury.
Randy Orton's father, Cowboy Bob Orton, recently revealed that his son was recovering well, but the doctors have advised him not to return to in-ring action.
During the latest episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the wrestling veteran was asked if Orton would suffer the same fate as Bryan Danielson and be forced to retire. Mantell mentioned that it could have been a possibility if Vince McMahon was still in total control.
“Well, that was under a different regime, I think that was under the total Vince regime. Now I think Vince is back. I don’t know at what depth he would be listed at... So I think this will be a Triple H decision whether he comes back or not. They’re friends, they’re buddies that may have something to play into it. But it’s up to the doctors I think right now, whether they clear them or not,” Dutch Mantell said. [03:04 to 04:12]
The American Dragon initially announced his retirement from pro wrestling back in 2016. Bryan revealed that the reason for the abrupt end to his career was because of multiple concussions. A few years later, he managed to return to in-ring competition.
Dutch Mantell is convinced Randy Orton will not be returning to WWE
The former manager of Jake Hager and Claudio Castagnoli gave his opinion on whether The Viper will return to the Stamford-based promotion while speaking on the same episode. He was certain that the WWE doctors would prevent Orton from competing if they discovered even the slightest issue with his body.
"I don't think he'll come back. This is the reason because I think that WWE they are aware of all these injuries, and he is going to have to go through so many tests... They are going to study his body because if there is something there that is going to be weak, they are going to find it. He might not even be able to get cleared to come back."
Mantell also mentioned that he personally would like to see Orton return for one last run.
