WWE veteran declares Tony Khan has not learned much in 5 years, cites glaring Jeff Jarrett example (Exclusive)

AEW CEO Tony Khan has been accused of not learning anything from his mistakes by a WWE veteran. The name in question is none other than Vince Russo who used Jeff Jarrett as an example while explaining the issue.

The All Elite honcho has witnessed a lot of controversies in All Elite Wrestling starting from the All Out 2022 PPV event. The event saw a backstage incident between The Elite and CM Punk which led to suspensions for both parties. Punk was involved in another incident at AEW All In 2023 against Jack Perry which ultimately led to his firing from the promotion.

Former AEW star Ryan Nemeth's recently released document from Fighftul also features another controversy involving CM Punk. Ryan claimed Punk had an executive role in the promotion and also accused him of abuse and harassment.

In a recent chat on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, WWE veteran Vince Russo was asked by host Dr. Chris Featherstone whether Tony Khan would learn something from this controversy. He brought up how Khan has put Jeff Jarrett in charge of some things in the office and Jeff is also an in-ring talent. Russo claimed that Khan hasn't learned much over the past five years.

"Bro, it's funny. You know, you, you asked the question, do you think Tony Khan learned his lesson? Bro, look at the role he's got Double J [Jeff Jarrett] in right now. You know, Jeff's doing a lot of office stuff and he's also one of the boys. So I don't know, man, I've not seen Tony Khan learn too much over the last five years man." [11:35 - 11:59]

EC3 believes Tony Khan has learned from his mistakes in AEW

In the same episode, Dr. Chris Featherstone also asked EC3 about Tony Khan possibly learning from this recent Ryan Nemeth controversy. The former WWE star jokingly stated that even though he doesn't see John Cena, Randy Orton, or The Rock coming over to fix things, Tony has learned a lesson on who to appoint as the Executive Vice President of AEW instead of handing that role to any talent.

"I can't see anybody else short of [John] Cena or The Rock or Randy [Orton] coming over that you would use that carrot to ding or that caveat. But I think he did probably learn a lesson on the Executive Vice President title being thrown around like a participation trophy." [10:35-10:52]

We will have to wait and see if there is more to Ryan Nemeth's controversy in All Elite Wrestling.
