WWE veteran lashes out at AEW for violence at All Out 2024; compares it to The Rock's beatdown of Cody Rhodes (Exclusive)
A WWE veteran has lashed out at the violence that took place at AEW All Out 2024. He compared it to The Rock's beatdown of Cody Rhodes on the Road to WrestleMania XL.
Jonathan Coachman is the latest name to comment on AEW All Out 2024. The high-profile event just concluded last weekend. It was a success and featured some hard-hitting matches. However, the pay-per-view received criticism for several risky spots.
At one point in the show, Jon Moxley betrayed Bryan Danielson and choked him out with a plastic bag. If that wasn't enough, the level of violence was turned up when the Unsanctioned Steel Cage Match concluded with a controversial chair shot to Swerve Strickland's head. Since then, many people have opened up on these sequences.
During a recent appearance on Sportskeeda's YouTube channel, Jonathan criticized people who compared the violent spots at All Out to The Rock beating up Cody Rhodes on an episode of RAW before WrestleMania. He mentioned that nothing that The Final Boss used to assault Rhodes was dangerous.
"For those of you that wanted to compare [The] Rock beating up Cody leading up to WrestleMania as the same thing as what happened at AEW last week, he didn't use anything that was dangerous. It was talking. It was a beatdown of what wrestling truly is." [42:40 - 43:00]
Sam Roberts feels that Solo Sikoa can defeat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship
In the past few months, Cody Rhodes has renewed his feud with Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline. Sikoa even challenged The American Nightmare for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam and lost. He will get another chance to win the title this week on SmackDown.
While it may seem impossible for Sikoa to win the gold, a WWE personality doesn't seem to think so. On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts mentioned that Sikoa could win the title, given his feud with Roman Reigns.
"The beauty of Solo Sikoa is that as much as he is not Roman Reigns, there is always this feeling where it's atleast a possibility. The idea that they will put the [Undisputed] WWE Championship back on The Bloodline especially when you know that Roman Reigns is coming back and he's coming back to fight The Bloodline. It is not out of the realm of possibility that the [Undisputed] WWE Title is on The Bloodline so that Roman Reigns has a road back to that title and Cody [Rhodes] has to get it from Roman. That's not out of the realm of possibility. That's not crazy. That's very possible," Sam Roberts said. [From 27:35 to 28:10]
