WWE veteran could make AEW debut with new character after parting ways with Triple H, says analyst
An analyst recently shared his thoughts on the former WWE Superstar and stated he could debut in AEW with a blockbuster character after leaving the Stamford-based promotion. The star being discussed is Bobby Lashley.
The All Mighty was one of the best WWE stars over the years. He is a two-time WWE Champion and had an amazing title reign. His run in the promotion is also known for his time with The Hurt Business, as the faction was popular during the pandemic era.
Lashley exited the company on August 16 after his contract expired. Following the reports of his departure, many fans and veterans speculated that he could be headed to All Elite Wrestling. Many also discussed the possibility of him debuting at All In pay-per-view this year.
While speaking on Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts talked about how Bobby Lashley could be presented in AEW if he signs with the company. The former said that The All Mighty could debut as a heel, and his character would be to point out the flaws in the promotion.
"Lashley coming in as a villainous heel voice of experience in AEW being the voice of veterans who don't like AEW would be an excellent character. That would acknowledge the sort of negative response that AEW gets but put it in a package of a villain, which now makes it, 'okay then if we cheer the good guys its good to like AEW,'" he said. Bill Apter explains why Bobby Lashley shouldn't leave WWE for AEW
Fans believe Lashley joining the Jacksonville-based promotion could be an exciting chapter in his career, as he recently departed the global sports entertainment juggernaut. However, legendary journalist Bill Apter claimed otherwise.
While speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Bill Apter stated that no one could go one-on-one with Bobby Lashley in AEW.
"He looks like pumped, and an athlete, he really takes care of himself. Who in AEW would be going against Bobby Lashley who is physically, looks like a monster? I can't think of any 'Heavyweight' in AEW that would be an equal match to him. Who would that be?" he said.
It remains to be seen what is next for the former WWE Champion.
