WWE veteran wants Bobby Lashley to make his AEW debut against current champion: "A lot of beef"
Bobby Lashley has reportedly signed a deal with AEW. WWE veteran Booker T wants him to make his AEW debut against the ROH World Television Champion, Brian Cage.
The All Mighty was rumored to make his debut at WrestleDream and attack former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland but Tony Khan ditched the plan as he wanted the former WWE star to have a grand arrival.
Speaking on the latest edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, the two-time Hall of Famer commented on who Bobby Lashley should face as his debut opponent in AEW. He said Brian Cage would be the perfect fit for him to wrestle against in his first match in AEW.
He said, "Cage got the title, right? Throw him [Lashley] in there with Brian Cage. I mean, that's a lot of beef. Both of those guys, they match very good together, right? Brian Cage likes doing dives as well. He's a diver. That might be good. That might be the match. I booked it." [H/T WrestlingInc]
Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross' WrestleMania ideas were scrapped
The Pride's Angelo Dawkins, Bobby Lashley & Montez Ford faced The Final Testament's Akam, Karrion Kross & Rezar in a Six Man Tag Team Philadelphia street fight match at WrestleMania XL this year.
Speaking in an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, The Herald of Doomsday revealed that he and The All Mighty had planned several gruesome spots but didn't execute them in the match because they were too risky to perform.
"Him [Lashley] and I were every single week trying to make this as insane as humanly possible... we're ready to do all kinds of crazy stuff. And maybe it is a good idea that we didn't do it," Kross said.
Lashley left WWE in August this year after his contract expired. Karrion Kross still works under the WWE umbrella and performs on RAW.
