“You can’t tell me what to do,” “Slag off” - Kenny Omega and WWE Superstar exchange playful banter ahead of SummerSlam

Kenny Omega and a certain popular WWE Superstar have recently exchanged several playful back-and-forth messages on social media ahead of the SummerSlam weekend. This would be Xavier Woods.

Despite never working for the same company, Omega and Woods have formed a rivalry away from the ring. They even had a chance to settle this in a Street Fighter exhibition match at a video game expo back in 2018, with the AEW star bringing in The Young Bucks as they faced The New Day during the event.

Their recent banter started after Kenny Omega replied to one of Xavier Woods' tweets, as he showed his haul during his trip to Japan. This prompted the WWE Superstar to fire a subtle shot at Omega, saying he was in Tokyo, while the AEW star was in bed. He did wish him a speedy recovery in the end, as Omega was still recuperating from diverticulitis.

The Cleaner responded bitterly to this, telling him to slag off. This doesn't come as a surprise, as a few days ago, Xavier Woods also fired a shot at him after passing by a poster of his while going around the streets of Osaka.

Kenny Omega also got into an exchange with another wrestler on X

Yesterday, Kenny Omega clapped back at an NJPW star who called him out on social media. This would be Gabe Kidd.

Kidd namedropped Omega on his latest tweet, even adding hourglass emojis. He may have been hinting at facing him sometime soon.

The former AEW World Champion was not amused by this and responded by saying that he had already gotten used to delusional stars, having bumped into many on the promotion. He then laid out a challenge for him, saying that should he win the G1 Climax Tournament, he may just do a favor for his career.

"You must have forgotten that I work for AEW. Most of our roster are delusional psychopaths like you, so, I’m kinda used to the schtick. Tell you what, brah - Go win that G1 and maybe I’ll think about gifting you with the 'Kenny Omega touch.' The same one that scored all your top talent that bag here in the US. Good Luck," Omega wrote.

Being one of the Executive Vice Presidents of All Elite Wrestling, Kenny Omega has heavy influence within the company. He claimed that this position of his has helped several former NJPW stars secure great contracts upon their move to the US. This could be the likes of Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada.

In the meantime, The Cleaner is focused on recovery, as he may still be out for a few more months.
