“You think this gets heat?” - Konnan slams AEW for poor booking of WWE legend

Konnas has slammed AEW for poorly booking a WWE legend. This star is one of the hottest heels in the company right now and some feel like the company is missing a trick.

The star in question is none other than Christian Cage. Cage currently has a guaranteed shot at Bryan Danielson’s world title and he was almost about to cash it in at Dynamite: Grand Slam last week. However, that did not happen as Kip Sabian came out of nowhere to thwart him with a pen of all things.

Now, WCW veteran Konnan did not mince his words when it came to this and said that it was elementary how things panned out. Speaking on his K100 podcast, he said:

“Let me tell you something. I wasn't into this feud. Old school fans are 'cuz this is a feud from like 15 years ago. But that's the problem with this company. They assume you know this. No, and so I was not into this. Also, again the same question I asked last week, why is Danielson wrestling Nigel and not Darby? Okay. And I thought it was so hokey and so sophomoric of running up and taking the pen and the guy running after him. Yeah, okay, this is like high school. You think this gets heat? Come on, bro.” [8:29 - 9:10]

AEW star Nick Wayne grateful to Christian Cage

Former AEW TNT Champion Christian Cage took Nick Wayne under his wing and essentially elevated the youngster to new heights.

Ever since aligning with the AEW veteran, Nick’s game has gone up a notch and he has now publicly thanked his mentor. He was speaking on the Battleground Podcast when he said:

"I thought my promos were something I wasn't the best at, but having Christian... You couldn't ask for a better teacher. He helps me, and I'm feeling so much more confident, just talking and cutting promos. That's a big thing for him. He told me, 'I wouldn't have taken you in if I didn't want to, I saw so much potential in you since you started here, I knew you had to come with me. So, thank you for proving me right.' And I couldn't help but just have the biggest smile on my face when he [thanked me]. I was like, 'There's no way that Christian is telling me this right now [laughs].'"

It is great to see Nick have a great relationship with the AEW star and will hope to emulate his idol in the ring soon.
