Last Modified Oct 4, 2023 09:59 GMT

Orange Cassidy (real name - James Cipperly) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Cassidy is a former AEW International Champion, and having held the title for 326 days, he is the longest reigning champion in title's history.

Born on May 4, 1984, Cassidy had made a name for himself in the independent circuit before entering the ring of AEW. Having graduated in 2002, Cassidy made his pro wrestling debut in 2004 in Ground Breaking Wrestling (GBW) Promotion under the name JC Ryder.

The next year, he made waves in Chikara, a promotion he would return to wrestle for in 2012. Upon his 2012 return to the company, he started working as a masked wrestler and used the name Orange Cassidy. At Chikara, he was a part of tag team named The Gentleman's Club which also comprised of Chuck Taylor, Drew Gulak, and The Swamp Master.

His skills gifted him a spot on the AEW roster in 2019. He took part in the AEW's inaugural PPV event "Double or Nothing". Since then, Cassidy has won the AEW International Championship and held it for 326 days. He has also won the Casino Tag Team Royale along with Danheusen in 2023.

How tall is Orange Cassidy?

Orange Cassidy has been booked at 5 ft and 10 inches in All Elite Wrestling and elsewhere. This converts to 178 cm or 1.78 m. For comparison, one of his arch-nemesis, PAC is billed at 5 ft 8 inches.

Orange Cassidy Weight

Orange Cassidy weighs 161 lbs or 73 kg. However, his billed weight in AEW is "Whatever". It suits Cassidy's gimmick of a lazy guy who can not care less of how much he weighs. Also, while he belongs to New Jersey, USA, he is billed from the Ant Hill or "Wherever" in AEW.

Orange Cassidy's wrestling style

The major reason why Orange Cassidy is such a hit is because of his style. While many wrestlers are known for their impressive gimmicks, only a few carry it into their matches. Cassidy is known as "The King of Sloth Style". Not only does he acts like that in programming, but he carries his sloth style into matches as well.

As per Cassidy, he created his gimmick to be different from others and also as a "middle finger to professional wrestling." Many consider him to be AEW's most popular wrestler. The company's co-founder and CEO Tony Khan revealed that WarnerMedia loves Cassidy's character. WarnerMedia is the media conglomerate that owns TNT and TBS, the home to AEW's programmings.
