Predicting the next 5 AEW World Champions

Swerve Strickland fulfilled his prophecy after dethroning Samoa Joe and winning the AEW World Championship at Dynasty. It was one of the best and most emotional moments on the show.

On the other hand, Samoa Joe was a great champion, who carried the company when top stars like Kenny Omega, MJF, and many more stars were absent for the majority of the time.

Now that a new champion has been crowned, let us predict the future path of the top prize. Here we speculate the next five reigns of the world title.

#5. Will Ospreay defeats Swerve Strickland at All In

The Ariel Assassin has been on a winning streak since arriving at AEW. He has been 6-0 since March 2024. Not only that, he has also conquered the American Dragon Bryan Danielson in arguably one of the best matches of the year in the company.

Ospreay defeated Chris Jericho during the previous year's All In. Also, he could be the perfect contender to dethrone Swerve. It would be an incredible moment for him and his fans to watch him capture the gold in his home country.

#4. Adam Cole becomes the new champion, conquering The Ariel Assassin

The Panama City Playboy was one of the top stars of WWE's NXT brand. However, since arriving in AEW, Adam Cole hasn't been allowed to prove himself due to booking decisions and injuries.

Since September 2023, he has been riding in a wheelchair, and yet he has made appearances on the show. However, things are looking good for him as he was walking on Dynasty while celebrating Roderick Strong's win on the show.

It is a shock that a major name like Adam hasn't won any championships at the time. He could easily be a top candidate to win the top prize at Revolution 2025, ending Will's nearly five-month hypothetical title reign.

#3. MJF's taking his revenge on "The Devil" at All In 2025

The Salt of the Earth has been sitting on the shelf since last year's Worlds End and nursing his different injuries. At the inaugural Worlds End pay-per-view, Adam Cole betrayed him and revealed him as the Devil, who had been troubling MJF for months. This was the same night he lost his championship to Samoa Joe.

After Cole captures gold at Worlds End, Maxwell could return at Double or Nothing, challenging him for the championship at All In. He could avenge his betrayal by taking away the championship from Panama City Playboy at All In 2025. This would be a full-circle moment as the duo had main-evented last year's All In.

#2. Wardlow finally wins the AEW World Championship at Revolution

After MJF becomes a two-time AEW World Champion at All In, his old adversary, Wardlow would challenge him at Revolution 2026. These two stars have no shortage of history together.

Also, Mr. Mayhem's future doesn't look bright in the Undisputed Kingdom as seeds for kicking him out of the faction for kicking him out are being planted.

Winning the AEW World Championship will be a huge moment for Wardlow, as he has been one of the best workers in the locker room.

#1. Malakai Black finally wins the top prize at the 2026 Double or Nothing

The House of Black has been the most dominant trios in AEW for years now. The faction's leader Malakai Black has been a top performer in singles action as well. Throughout the last year, he has been criticized for not being active as a singles star.

Tony Khan has a lot of time to build Black as a main event caliber star. And then became the face of the company at Double or Nothing 2026, cementing his legacy as a top star in AEW.
