Returning AEW star, not Wheeler Yuta, to save Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream? Exploring the possible twist
A top AEW star could make his return at WrestleDream this weekend and help the current World Champion Bryan Danielson. The star who saves The American Dragon might not be Wheeler Yuta.
Bryan Danielson is slated to defend his AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley in the main event of the WrestleDream Pay-Per-View this weekend. Furthermore, Danielson also has to deal with Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC from Mox's faction. Nonetheless, a returning Ricky Starks could be the one to help the champion.
Although the chances are slim, Starks could insert himself in the ongoing storyline. The Absolute has yet to appear on TV since March when he wrestled on an episode of Collision. The star also has a history with Danielson as they had a blood feud last year. However, at WrestleDream, Ricky could assist Bryan.
Assuming Moxley will capture the AEW World Title from Danielson, he along with Shafir, Claudio, and PAC could launch a post-match assault on Bryan. As Wheeler Yuta might not be able to help the veteran alone, Ricky Starks could make his blockbuster return and save the day for The American Dragon.
The return could lead to Starks being the first challenger for Moxley after the supposed title change. Furthermore, the 34-year-old being inserted into the main event scene could also lead to him re-signing with Tony Khan's promotion as his contract is reportedly set to expire.
Veteran feels Bryan Danielson will be out for a year after WrestleDream
The WWE and ECW veteran, Tommy Dreamer believes that Bryan Danielson will not retain his title at WrestleDream as he has to get neck surgery. Speaking on Busted Open Radio recently, Dreamer stated the following:
"[Last match] ever on 'Dynamite'? No," "Do I think he's going to retain at WrestleDream? I do not. I disagree with that. If he loses, he's done and he's done for a while, but I do not think he will be (...) listen, he needs neck surgery, legit. He's gonna be gone probably for a year."
Henceforth, it remains to be seen what transpires in the AEW World Title match at WrestleDream this weekend.
