3-time AEW champion to possibly dethrone Bryan Danielson - Reports

A former TNT Champion might be in line to take the AEW World Title away from Bryan Danielson. The star in question is none other than Darby Allin.

The Daredevil already has the opportunity to challenge the AEW World Champion after earning a shot at Royal Rampage last month. Darby Allin will be competing for his title shot at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 25th in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

In a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Darby Allin has been strongly considered by All Elite Wrestling as the star to officially end the reign of Bryan Danielson in the future:

Darby Allin on a potential matchup with Ricochet in AEW

Former WWE star Ricochet made his shocking AEW debut at All In in the Casino Gauntlet match. At the post-All In Dynamite, the highflyer competed in his singles debut against Kyle Fletcher and successfully defeated the latter to emerge victorious.

In a recent interview with Metro UK, Darby Allin revealed that he would like to wrestle Ricochet only if he has a point to prove. The former TNT Champion explained how wrestlers having egos makes him angry:

“I’d like to wrestle with anybody that has a point to prove. So, yeah, if he has a point to prove, he’s got that chip on his shoulder, let’s do it. I don’t want to wrestle anybody that has this ego and they’re just gonna phone it in today. That’s when I get pissed off. You know, people that are just so ungrateful. Darby Allin is seemingly moving into a storyline with Jon Moxley after the recent Dynamite. We will have to wait and see when he crosses paths with Ricochet in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
