Absent AEW star was backstage at Dynamite after 500-day absence, told people he was "ready to go" - Reports
According to a new report, absent AEW star Bandido was spotted backstage at Dynamite this week. It was also noted that he is ready to return to action.
The last time fans saw Bandido in action was in June 2023, when he had a 15-minute main event match against Konosuke Takeshita, at the Rampage tapings in Washington, D.C. The masked star suffered a wrist injury during the bout. He also had to go under the knife to heal his wounds but suffered a setback during his recovery, which derailed his return to TV.
Speaking on the WrestlePurists Dynamite Recap show, renowned pro wrestling journalist Ibou revealed that Bandido was present backstage at this week's edition of Dynamite. The star also told people that he is ready to return after the long hiatus.
"Bandido was backstage at AEW Dynamite this week. He was also telling people that he is ready to go," Ibou stated.
The masked wrestler started working for Tony Khan's promotion back in 2022. Making his debut on the September 28th, 2022 edition of Dynamite, he faced off against Chris Jericho in a rematch for the ROH World Championship but ended up losing the bout. He officially signed with the promotion in November 2022.
Tony Khan announced the in-ring return of another popular AEW star
Earlier this month, Penelope Ford returned to All Elite Wrestling after being on the shelf for two years. She attacked Jamie Hayter, thereby starting a rivalry with the star. Recently, Tony Khan on X (fka Twitter) announced her return match which is going to be against Hayter on November 6.
"In 2 weeks, Wed. 11/6 Manchester, NH Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TBS, 8pm ET/7pm CT @thePenelopeFord vs @jmehytr. After 2 years out, Penelope Ford is back in AEW, with her sights set on Jamie Hayter! In 2 weeks on TBS she will get her wish: Penelope vs Hayter Wednesday, 11/6!" Khan tweeted.
Ford had her last match in 2022, teaming up with her real-life husband, Kip Sabian, to defeat Jeremy Prophet and Jessika Neri in mixed tag team action on Dark. Soon after that, she sustained an injury and went on a hiatus.
