Absent AEW star details struggle of injury recovery - Reports
An AEW star recently opened up about his injury which had him on the sidelines for 21 months. The star being discussed is Kyle O'Reilly.
Kyle O'Reilly made his return to AEW after almost two years at the Revolution 2024 Pay-Per-View. He was on the shelf due to neck and arm issues.
The 37-year-old star came out during Roderick Strong's International Championship victory celebration at the Revolution 2024 Pay-Per-View. However, he was not thrilled to see the rest of the Undisputed Kingdom alongside his former tag team partner. After making multiple attempts to include Kyle in his faction weeks later, Strong snapped and attacked O'Reilly, to set up a match at the upcoming AEW Dynasty Pay-Per-View.
While speaking to Fightful Select, the former WWE Superstar opened up about his road to recovery in the past months. Kyle stated that he did not think he would be sidelined this long before making a comeback. He also said overcoming the mental hurdle was difficult for him.
The former NXT Tag Team Champion then stated the positive side of being away from the squared circle, saying that he had improved as a father.
What the future has in store for Kyle in the Jacksonville-based promotion remains to be seen.

After making his return at the AEW Revolution 2024 Pay-Per-View, Kyle O'Reilly was slated to face Bryan Keith. Ahead of his match after almost two years, he provided details following his surgery.
While speaking in a backstage interview, O'Reilly claimed that he could not move his arm for nearly ten months.
"It took a long time to get any of that back, I mean I couldn't move my arm for nearly 10 months. But I just had a lot of support man, you know, so many of the boys reached out, so many fans wishing me well and hoping to see me wrestle again," Kyle O'Reilly said.
It will be interesting to see who walks out as the International Champion at the upcoming AEW Dynasty Pay-Per-View.
