AEW considering reviving canceled show amid rumors of Rampage going off air - Reports

It's been a huge week for AEW, with the promotion's new television deal having just been announced. However, it's not over yet, as Dynamite's fifth-year anniversary show will air tonight. Amid the celebrations, it's been noted that All Elite Wrestling is interested in bringing back a fan-favorite show: AEW Dark.

AEW Dark began airing just one week after the inaugural episode of Dynamite back in October 2019. The show streamed exclusively on YouTube and featured young, up-and-coming talents, as well as a variety of indie stars and even some of All Elite Wrestling's top names.

Dark was axed in 2023, reportedly as part of the television deal that spawned Saturday Night Collision. Many fans have mourned the YouTube show's demise, but it seems that the Jacksonville-based promotion is interested in bringing it back.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp noted on X today that, amid the speculation of Friday Night Rampage potentially ending as part of the TV rights renewal with Warner Bros. Discovery, the promotion wants to bring Dark back. Check it out:

"They've wanted to [bring Dark back] for a while," wrote Sapp.

AEW's new television deal is valued at up to $150 million

All Elite Wrestling's flagship show, Dynamite, and its Saturday presentation, Collision, will remain on TBS and TNT, respectively, for years to come. The company announced today that a new deal had been reached with Warner Bros. Discovery, and Variety has reported that the contract has an upward value of $150 million.

Additionally, the promotion's weekly shows will be simulcast on the MAX streaming service starting in January 2025. This is big news for many fans in the US who may not have a cable subscription.

Rumors are still swirling regarding a new show potentially airing on one of FOX's networks. However, nothing has been confirmed just yet.
