AEW forced to change "couple of things" after serious injury on Collision - Reports

A recent report revealed that AEW was forced to change multiple things after a serious injury occurred during Collision last week. A female star suffered the injury during her match on Saturday.

On Collision last Saturday, Skye Blue was set to square off with the former AEW women's world champion, Hikaru Shida. During the bout, Shida jumped on Skye at the ringside with a crossbody and the match had to be stopped. The referee and the medical team checked on Blue and the match was called off, as she had sustained an injury.

Later, the AEW President, Tony Khan issued a statement revealing that Skye suffered an ankle injury during her match and as a result, Hikaru Shida was declared the winner. Meanwhile, there are more details regarding the backstage reaction to the injury.

According to the latest report from Fightful Select, the initial hope within the company was that Skye Blue would be okay after sustaining the injury. Furthermore, it was reported that a couple of adjustments were made on the show last Saturday after Skye's injury. However, it is unclear what the specific changes were.


Other events on AEW Collision last week

Last Saturday, AEW Collision had a solid episode in the E-Sports arena in Arlington, Texas. The show had a brand new stage and a new theme song as well. The show opened with Darby Allin making his in-ring return with the win against The Beast Mortos.

Darby also challenged Jack Perry for a match at 'All In 2024'. FTR also appeared and opened up on their plans for Wembley. In the main event of the show, The Patriarchy defeated The Bang Bang Gang to become the new trios champions.

Overall, it was a great show from start to finish aside from the injury sustained by Skye Blue during her match. Only time will tell when Skye will recover and return.
