AEW interested in bringing in major 6ft 1in female star [Reports]

AEW has their eyes set on a 6ft 1in female wrestling star and wants to bring her to the promotion, as per the latest reports. The star in question is Megan Bayne.

Bayne became a free agent last year after completing her stint with World Wonder Ring Stardom. She was rumored to be heading to All Elite Wrestling several months ago and some reports even suggested that she had already joined the roster but her status with the Jacksonville-based promotion is still unclear.

To clear some doubt, a report from Fightful Select revealed that Tony Khan and co. have been interested in Megan Bayne for a long time. It was also stated in the report that her name often gets pitched for plots and storylines.

The 26-year-old female star has previously worked for Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling and made a few appearances in Dark, Dark: Elevation, and Rampage.

Megan Bayne pulled from a major event due to her link with AEW

A few months ago, Megan Bayen was expected to appear during Marigold's tour. However, it got canceled due to her being associated with AEW.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter disclosed that she had verbally agreed to appear for Rossy Ogawa's Marigold promotion and was even ready to bring Rebecca Scott with her for the tour. However, she had a problem due to her contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"She told Marigold that she had a contract problem with AEW. I would say with the politics as they are, AEW would likely not want one of their wrestlers working for Marigold. Evidently they never heard back from either of them and assumed neither were coming but never actually got emails returned when asked," WON reported.

Bayne is currently working on the independent scene. Her latest match took place against Ava Everett at the Limitless Fresh Blood 2024 event on October 26.
