AEW moving forward with plans for 26-year-old star after contract expiration - Reports

AEW reportedly has creative plans for a top star despite his contract being up. The star being discussed is Daniel Garcia. He signed with the promotion in 2021, and his deal was reported to expire in October 2024.

The Red Death has grabbed the attention of many since the reports of his contract expiry have surfaced. Days after the news broke, he was written off TV by MJF. Many believed he would re-sign with the company after the massive return he made at All In London. However, that wasn't the case. Also, reports of WWE being interested in him emerged.

Daniel Garcia's last match was against MJF at the All Out pay-per-view. Although the Salt of the Earth won the contest, the former had the last laugh after the match as he injured Maxwell's neck in an on-screen storyline. He hasn't been on AEW TV since. The most recent report about him claimed that backstage confidence in him staying with AEW is currently lower than last month.

However, a new report claims that AEW is still putting together creative plans for Daniel Garcia despite him not having made his decision. According to Ibou of WrestlePurists, the company is confident that he will re-sign and has developed creative plans for the young star if he does end up staying.

AEW star Daniel Garcia wants to retire Bryan Danielson

The Dragon Slayer has been one of All Elite Wrestling's fastest-rising stars. He recently revealed a major goal for his career.

While speaking on Good Karma Wrestling, Daniel Garcia claimed that he wants to retire Bryan Danielson, which has been his goal for nearly two years.

"Man, I mean, the goal that I’ve had for probably the past two years, it’s really a goal that only one person can do is I really want to be the person to retire Bryan Danielson. That’s something that I really wanna do. To me, that would mean more than any title, any accolade. I feel like that’s the biggest notch in my belt that I could ever get, and that is my main focus and that is my goal," he said.

It will be interesting to see how things work out between the Tony Khan-led promotion and the Red Death.
