AEW reportedly discussed bringing back former TNT Champion
AEW has reportedly discussed bringing back a former TNT Champion. This is long overdue and something that the fans will love. The star who could make his long-awaited return to television is none other than Sammy Guevara.
The Spanish God has not been seen in AEW since February when he was suspended after his horrifying botch in his match against Jeff Hardy on Rampage. In a mishap, he injured Hardy’s nose. However, the suspension was lifted soon after.
Fightful Select reported that executives had discussed bringing back Sammy Guevara over the last couple of weeks. The report further reiterates that the former member of the Inner Circle has not been suspended over the last couple of months but was simply out of action.
It will be interesting to see how he will fit in if he makes a comeback in the near future.
AEW has reportedly big plans for Sammy Guevara
Sammy Guevara is someone who invokes a reaction from the fans inside the arena. It was reported that AEW has some great plans for the former TNT Champion.
During a Fightful Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp responded the following when asked about Sammy’s return:
“I have heard that there have been talks, creative plans for him. Little bit outside the box stuff planned for him, which is good because I don’t think you need to have him with Chris Jericho anymore.”
If that is indeed the case, it will be great to see him go on a singles run once again. He had a great time when he was the TNT Champion, and another shot at a title could augur well for him.
Another thing to note is that his former mentor, Chris Jericho, is the current FTW Champion. A potential feud with the former WWE star will also work well for him.
