Another former WWE star set to make AEW debut soon - Reports
A former WWE star is set to make his debut soon after he recently confirmed that he was All Elite. This will surely set pulses of fans racing.
Lio Rush surprised everyone when he appeared backstage during AEW WrestleDream with Alicia Atout and announced that he had signed with the company. As he was giving the interview, he was interrupted by none other than the Hurt Syndicate.
MVP and Shelton Benjamin were clearly still incensed by what happened moments before with Swerve Strickland in the ring. They were not in a good mood and appeared to confront Lio Rush and the latter did not appreciate it. The 50-year-old veteran then asked the former WWE Superstar if he was available on Wednesday and he answered in the affirmative.
Going by how the interaction went, it seems more than likely that Rush’s first opponent could be Shelton Benjamin and that he could be making his debut at Dynamite soon, as reported by Wrestletalk. It will be interesting to see if it will be Benjamin or someone else.
AEW has creative plans for former WWE star Lio Rush
Former WWE star Lio Rush initially returned to AEW in May and that was a shock move as it was not expected. After he signed up with the company, there were reports that Tony Khan had creative plans for Rush.
Fightful Select reported that Lio Rush would feature regularly on the show and that there were big plans for him. However, that did not turn out to be the case as he went off the boil for a while. With his recent return and his claim that he has signed up fully, he will be hoping that things change.
With Bobby Lashley also reportedly signing up with the company and Lio Rush’s recent altercation with MVP and Shelton Benjamin, one can expect that he will be heavily featured in the weeks ahead.
