Backstage reaction in AEW to rumors about Shane McMahon’s potential move - Reports
A recent report has revealed AEW's potential backstage reaction to the prospect of former WWE executive Shane McMahon joining the company. Over the past several weeks, there has been much speculation about McMahon possibly inking a deal with All Elite Wrestling.
The rumors of Shane McMahon possibly heading to AEW continue to circulate on the internet. McMahon has not been seen in a wrestling ring since his last match at WrestleMania 39 in 2023. Moreover, he has not been officially associated with the global juggernaut since the UFC merger.
On a Q&A podcast on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether there have been discussions about Shane-O-Mac within the Tony Khan-led promotion. In response, Sapp said it was unclear whether the two sides have held talks about a potential deal. However, he was told that All Elite Wrestling employees had discussions among themselves regarding the 54-year-old.

Tony Khan addressed Shane McMahon potentially joining AEW
Shane-O-Mac was integral to WWE's success during the Attitude Era. Besides playing a key role behind the scenes, he was among the most entertaining acts on the company's programming. Following his return in 2016, he engaged in numerous compelling feuds.
In a recent interview with Maggie & Perloff, Tony Khan revealed that he had not met McMahon, but they had many mutual friends. The AEW President added that he was open to having a conversation with the former Tag Team Champion.
"Shane McMahon is somebody that I've never met, but he has a lot of experience in wrestling and a lot [of] friends in AEW. I have never really had any conversations with him or talked to him ever. I know he ran into Mercedes Mone after Forbidden Door, which is a cool coincidence. I have never met him. I'd be open to talking to him, and he's welcome to stop by at any time," Khan said.
