Backstage report on Swerve Strickland's recent botch about WWE on live AEW TV

The former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland made a botch involving WWE recently and there is an update on the same. The latest report revealed why the unexpected botch took place on Dynamite.

This past Wednesday, AEW Dynamite was live from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Swerve Strickland defeated Lio Rush in an athletic match. Following his victory, Swerve cut a promo in which he accidentally mentioned 'Stamford' and fans began chanting "Bridgeport." Stamford, Connecticut is the city where the WWE headquarters are located.

The botch by Swerve was pointed out by many fans and became a topic of discussion on social media. Meanwhile, recent reports suggested why Swerve possibly made the mistake of mentioning 'Stamford' instead of 'Bridgeport.' Bryan Alvarez on the Wrestling Observer Radio noted that Swerve making the error was a simple gaffe.

Furthermore, Alvarez reported that the botch might've happened because the AEW wrestlers were booked to stay in Stamford instead of Bridgeport. Fightful Select also reported that the All Elite Wrestling talent's hotel was so close to the WWE HQ that the building could be seen from the hotel.

Swerve Strickland was attacked on AEW Dynamite ahead of Full Gear

After his victory over Lio Rush on Dynamite this past week, Swerve Strickland was interrupted by Bobby Lashley and MVP of The Hurt Syndicate. Although Shelton Benjamin was nowhere to be seen, he jumped Swerve from behind in the ring which led to a three-on-one attack on Swerve.

MVP also took out Swerve's manager, Prince Nana. Furthermore, Lashley slammed Strickland on the mat and also took him out with a full Nelson hurt lock submission. Bobby and Swerve are set to square off against each other at the upcoming Full Gear Pay-Per-View on November 23.

Moreover, it remains to be seen if Swerve Strickland manages to stop Bobby Lashley on his All Elite in-ring debut at Full Gear.
