Big update on Swerve Strickland's AEW future following All Out 2024 - Reports

AEW's sixth annual All Out pay-per-view marked another major loss for Swerve Strickland. The top star is coming off his first World Championship reign, but now there is uncertainty surrounding his future. Sources have now revealed a major update on Strickland before a key event he could be directly related to.

The Realest saw his AEW World Championship reign end at 126 days after losing to Bryan Danielson in the All In main event. 13 days later, he lost a brutal Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match to Adam Page in the All Out main event. Strickland has not been seen since then, and immediately after the match, it was rumored that he would go on hiatus.

AEW's next pay-per-view is WrestleDream, booked for Saturday, October 12 in Tacoma, Washington, which is Strickland's hometown. There has been speculation on the 33-year-old returning that night, which would mean he might be taking just a short break. However, a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted that a big hometown comeback likely will not happen.

Swerve is said to be "not certain" for WrestleDream at last word. Sources added that he "might not" appear that night as it was believed that the 13-year industry veteran would be away "for a while," but no concrete time frame was provided.

Tony Khan recently signed Strickland to a new contract, and it was known then that he would be taking some time off. The deal is reportedly for five years and worth major money, which has invited some criticism from within the business.

AEW Rampage updated lineup for tonight

All Elite Wrestling will air the first Rampage episode since All Out tonight on TNT. The show was taped on Wednesday in Lexington, Kentucky.

Tonight's program will feature the Rampage in-ring debut of Kamille. Below is the updated lineup:

The Brickhouse signed with AEW in February but did not debut until late July, as the muscle for Mercedes Moné. Her in-ring debut came on the July 31 edition of Dynamite, where she squashed Brittany Jade. She then won a Handicap Match the following week, defeating Jazmyne Hao and Clara Carter.
